Effective CCTV requires going the extra mile, diligent planning, carefully selecting quality equipment from a vast range of cameras and lenses to build a system that reliably captures the correct level of detail for the areas it protects. We begin with a detailed survey, work with you to build your ideal system, tailored to your needs, built to be fit for purpose and provide evidence grade material.

Our systems fully meet BSIA guidelines for installation, law enforcement & court use and are one of the strongest forms of intrusion deterrence & home protection. Complete compliance with the DORI guidelines (below) means going above & beyond other companies and we provide a minimum of 1 month’s high quality complaint video through recorders equipped with appropriately sized storage drives, certified for the demands of 24/7 surveillance.

We don’t use simple boxsets with improperly framed pictures, lacking the detail to be used as evidence. All our systems are designed to identify intruders and provide real evidence.

Why is a quality installation important?

Around 90% of professionally fitted CCTV systems are not capable of providing usable evidence that can actually identify a subject, even looking directly at the camera. This is typically caused by incorrect camera type, lens, sensor and/or negligent installation causing insufficient video detail.

The majority of CCTV installations only provide evidence in the first 2 DORI categories, most fail the final 2. With the majority of tradespeople fitting CCTV ignorant or unwilling to follow DORI guidelines, the resulting work fails to properly utilise their customer’s investment.

Many say, “if you can read the licence plate then you can identify the person standing by the car”, this is only true for smaller US licence plates. UK plates are clear at 125ppm, someone next to that is only in the Recognition category, far short of the 250ppm required for reliable Identification.

We take the DORI standard seriously to ensure CCTV quality is sufficient to provide evidence for law enforcement & insurance companies. DORI is derived from the comprehensive guidelines set out by the British Security Industry Association’s (BSIA), this is the standard we work to.

DORI image represents the minimum level of detail for each category, our real life installations cover a much larger area. CLICK TO ENLARGE

How home-connect differs:

Recognising your requirements are unique, from the outset we take DORI guidelines seriously when building your system. We maximise the performance of your installation, both day & night image quality and how each camera captures evidence, e.g. a camera fitted for Identification at a front door can often provide Recognition/Observation/Detection levels of clarity further afield. We drive the most performance from every aspect of your system.

Setting us apart is our Serious Incident Support2 which is free for the life of your system. We take the burden of making hardcopy recordings for the Police or insurance companies if you have a serious incident such as a home invasion or significant property theft. No risk of deleting evidence or making recordings authorities can’t play. Every video puts our reputation on the line, SIS can be taken as our guarantee that your system will be well thought out with great capabilities.

Our systems are designed & fitted properly so we’re happy to stand behind them, being HCSA certified, all our systems are fully manufacturer backed & covered by our 3-year warranty1

Our Work:

We cover a wide range of CCTV projects, from purely residential, combined home & commercial and light industrial/commercial (see our business CCTV). Our systems provide excellent night & day pictures, accurately detect human and vehicle intrusion. A common theme throughout our work is the effort we go to conceal cables giving our systems a tidy integrated look and making them tough against vandalism. If you can’t see what you’re looking for please feel free to call us or take a look at our business orientated CCTV for our light industrial/commercial surveillance systems.
1 CCTV equipment is fitted externally & subject to harsh weather conditions. Firmware updates, security patches & site checks are required on a yearly basis to maintain maximum performance. For every annual service completed, warranty cover against equipment & material defects will be boosted by an additional year (maximum of 3-years), exclusions apply, please see our standard T&C’s for more details. 1st service visit cost will be guaranteed in writing, subsequent service visits will never increase above the rate of inflation.
2 Serious Incident Support is available for the lifetime of your CCTV installation. The system must be serviced by us on an annual basis to insure correct performance & operation.
